When you’re preparing to move abroad with children, it’s not the boxes and suitcases that worry you most. It’s the schools.
We knew well in advance that we’d be moving from Spain to London in the summer of 2025. In Spain, our children were studying in Spanish, but in the UK, an entirely new system awaited them. The biggest challenge was finding the right secondary schools for our older two.
On a friend’s recommendation we reached out to Liudmila and that decision lifted half the stress off our shoulders. She created a clear and structured plan for us, including English and Maths preparation, summer camps and then step-by-step guidance through the entire admissions process.
Not everything went smoothly. Our youngest got a place at a wonderful prep school quite quickly but finding places for the older ones was much harder. We had missed deadlines for top boarding schools, had limited options in London and were only waitlisted for our top choices.
But Liudmila never let go of the situation. She stayed on top of every detail, submitting applications, speaking with schools, tracking deadlines. And then, just a week before the start of the school year, we received the call we had been dreaming of. Both older children had been offered places at the schools we truly wanted.
Now they’ve been at their new school for a term. The workload is intense but they’re both thriving. They’re bursting with energy, busy with sports, clubs and a growing circle of new friends. Looking back, we realise how much harder this journey would have been without Liudmila’s support.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that when it comes to education, having someone who truly understands the system, believes in your children and stands by you every step of the way can make all the difference.
