The majority of the UK universities will require international students to complete a Foundation course in Art & Design before obtaining a place on an Architecture degree course.

Foundation in Art & Design is aimed at helping students:

  • To prepare and refine their portfolio for university entry
  • To adapt to the requirements of the new education system
  • To improve their level of the academic English
  • To cover gaps in the curriculum between home country and UK


Application process

What documents will you need to apply?

  • High School Diploma transcript
  • English Proficiency Test(IELTS, TOEFL etc.)
  • Personal statement

Some Foundation courses require students to submit a portfolio of works in order to be considered for a foundation course. Portfolio forms part of the selection process and will provide basis for an interview. Each institution clearly outlines the requirements and formats of a portfolio.
